Last Summer, we wanted to add some extra outdoor lighting to our deck.
We didn't have a lot of money to spend & found an inexpensive & easy way to do it.
I love the look of the post lights that are attached right onto a deck, so we tried to create this look on a very small budget.
We actually just bought a box of Outdoor Solar LED Walk Path Lights like this from Home Depot.
The box cost us about $20.00 for six.
We just didn't attach the posts that go into the ground. Then my husband just took a drill & regular wood screws & drilled the base of the lights right into the deck. Then we placed the decorative tops back on.
These are solar lights so no electrical work had to be done!
I really love how they turned out!
So we tried our best to pick some that matched the light fixture attached to our house.
It's an easy way to add some extra light for those summer nights!
Now I can't wait to get out all of my deck furniture & flower pots!
I think spring is finally here!

I love your idea... I might steal it!
ReplyDeletegood for outdoors, can you also provide electrical light products for indoors?
ReplyDeleteIt is good that homeowners like you find ways to spruce up their homes at a fraction of a budget! And I think you did a splendid job on your deck! The post lamps accentuate the wood railings, giving it a sophisticated touch. And the light from the fixture would cast a warm glow on the place, making it more lovely.
ReplyDeleteOutside lights give a different ambiance to your garden or exteriors. It is great to install these lights at home.
ReplyDeleteThat looks great! It looks like the outdoor lighting a friend in Chicago just got! Do you like how it lights up the whole yard?
ReplyDeleteI really like the look of those lights. That is a trend for outdoor lighting for sure, the old school, elegant look. Very nice. Thanks for this!

ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to add some lighting to my back porch for a couple months and haven't been able to find anything I've liked until now! Those lamps that mount right to the railing are really cool! I can't believe how cheap you did it for either, it looks like it could have costed way more than $20! I am pretty sure I am going to do the same thing on my patio once it starts to warm up. http://www.classiclightinginc.com/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=4
