I'm a stay at home mom of 4 cute kids. I love anything that has to do with homes & decorating. My husband Steve often gets recruited into helping me finish things that I start! We are making our house a "HOME" one project at a time!!

Halloween Decor 2014

Our great room is all ready for Halloween!
It is one of our favorite times of the year!
I love our new fireplace, the white background makes all of the decorations show up so well!
If you'd like to see our fireplace transformation, you can see it HERE.
I got the witch years ago on clearance from Tai Pan, the skull candles are a new addition this year and I found them at Michael's.  I made the paper bats and stick them on with the blue painters tape, that way it won't pull off my paint when I take them down.

Every morning, My 7 year old comes down for breakfast and says, "Eat, Drink & Be Scary" in his vampire voice!

Here is another view from the kitchen.
Here is my bookshelf all decorated for Halloween!
I actually cut up an old cardboard box to fit the backs and wrapped them in wrapping paper.
I've been using the same ones for about 3 years!

My sister gave me an "early" birthday present this year and gave me the books & potion bottle, I love them!
My kids are really into potions!
This is our favorite candy dish "mummy"!
I've had him for over 10 years, we've had to glue the nose back on a few times, but he still looks cute!!
 Happy Halloween!!

  1. Super cute - Love the flying witch and potion bottles. Looks like you're all set! My boys pulled out my Halloween décor over the weekend and randomly put scary things all over the house. The best was the spider web blob that they stuck to the bricks on our fireplace. I hope to add my final touches this week and "fix" a few things. Happy Halloween!

    1. Don't you love how excited they get? Sometimes it even makes me laugh when I go around and "fix" a few things! The same thing happens at Christmas with the ornaments, they all seem to be gathered in one spot on the tree!

  5. Discovered your blog via Kim Wilson of Sand and Sisal blogspot. Love all your Halloween decorations..What kid wouldn't like these decorations? Did your sister take some old books and make them like that herself or buy them already made up like that? I love the Halloween house that is on the end table by the sofa. Love the bats, are there any tuitorials how to make these bats or that Halloween house? Is it ceramic or made from wood or cardboard? Everything really stands out so bold against the beautiful white mantel. Thanks for sharing these pictures. I live in a Sr. Citizens Community and no Treat or Treating allowed..I always dreaded Halloween night when we lived in our other homes. Seems like the middle school kids would turn out with no costume on with king size pillowcases looking for freebie candy and they were so rude and you were scared to say anything to them, afraid of retaliation. More and More parents are not allowing their kids to participate into this holiday event because of the possible dangers lurking. It's a shame the world has come to this. Some parents dress up toddlers that can't even say the word Trick or Treet and have no idea what it is all about. I never understood why they went to all that expense at such an early age. Guess I'm an old fuddyduddie!

    1. The books are actually from Michaels. The Halloween House is made of wood & I got it a few years ago at TJ Maxx. For the bats, I printed them off the computer and traced them on black construction paper and cut them out. Thanks for the sweet comment!
